Beasts OCR 5k+ 2019

What it is
The Inaugural Beasts OCR 5k+ is a 5k virtual race that is unlike any you have done before. 5k's are fun, but this one will be a challenge that will require extra items, which you may already have or can easily acquire or make.
When Brian Cays created the Beasts OCR 5k+ his vision was to combine OCR training with endurance training while keeping everyone within a small field. This event can be done solo but having a field full of friends is so much more fun!
Watch this spot for group race locations! Each Beasts OCR WOD locations will have an official 5K+ event.
When
Signups start September 1st with the virtual event to take place anytime between November 1st and November 30th. This gives you ample time to train and complete the virtual race. Registration closes on November 30th or when we sell out.
Cost
The Beasts OCR 5k+ will cost $20 per person if in the US and Canada and $25 anywhere else.
Entry Fee includes shipping.
Proceeds from this virtual race will benefit the various free Beasts OCR Workout's around WA, OR and ID to get additional equipment to use during the sessions.
Participants will receive a Beasts OCR 5k+ medal. Medals will be shipped out after the event ends. The medals will arrive around the beginning of January, 2020.
Once registered and paid for the event, you can do the virtual race as many times as you like. No matter how many times you run the race, your best time will be shown on BeastsChallenge.Com (optional).

Race Details
Oh, you want to know what you will need to do in order to get that sweet race medal? Of course you do!
Part 1 - "The Beast"
For the Beast, you will need enough space to move 100 yards. This can be all in a line, an L shape, or increments of 10 yards, it's up to you and what you have available. You will be doing different moves in incrementing 10 yard intervals.
- Run 10 yards to your marker and Gator Roll 10 yards back to the start
- Run 20 yards to your marker and Crab Walk 20 yards back to the start
- Run 30 yards to your marker and Lizard Walk 30 yards back to the start
- Run 40 yards to your marker and Inch Worm 40 yards back to the start
- Run 50 yards to your marker and Frog Jump 50 yards back to the start
- Run 60 yards to your marker and Monkey Walk 60 yards back to the start
- Run 70 yards to your marker and Walking Lunge 70 yards back to the start
- Run 80 yards to your marker and Bear Crawl 80 yards back to the start
- Run 90 yards to your marker and Run Backwards 90 yards back to the start
- Run 100 yards to your marker and Burpee Broad Jump 100 yards back to the start
Ideas for yard markers: Small cones that you can get on the cheap at any sporting goods store, red solo cups, paper towel cardboard centers, empty fit aid cans, etc.
Part 2 - "5K+"
For this section we will be running and then carrying an object for a set distance. The object should be a challenge and or awkward to carry (close to 40lbs is recommended but use whatever is a challenge to you). The objects could include a tire, water jug, sandbag, cinder block, a weighted bucket, a slosh pipe, or something else that you can be creative with! You may use more than one object to mix things up and this is highly encouraged!
- Run 400 yards (2 laps of your 100 yard marker)
